Durango & Colorado Springs

Finally! A chance to climb in Durango (and also a chance to secretly plan a birthday surprise). There is a little bouldering area outside of Durango called Turtle Lake. Chase and I were able to climb several routes including some V1's: Tie Dihedral, My 2 Cents, 10 Cents Short of a Dime, and Nickel and Dime. Are you wondering about the money references?

After warming up, Chase jumped on a V7 called The Death Sentence and finished it off with a very interesting and tiering heal hook around a corner.

The Death Sentence

I worked on a V4 called There's a Lesson Here. I fell off this project for an hour and was unable to
complete it but boy was it fun!

There's a Lesson Here

After Turtle Lake we headed to Colorado Springs for Chase's birthday surprise! We spend two nights at a wonderful VRBO where we showered, did laundry, and relaxed. We were also able to eat out at a wonderful Ethiopian restaurant and enjoy what Colorado Springs has to offer, rain and relaxation.

We found snow!

Unfortunately with the severe weather system moving through we decided to drive straight to the coast and bypass the golf ball sized hail, flooding, tornados, and thunderstorms. Currently we are in Aurora Nebraska enjoying a free campsite with electricity hookups, water, and wi-fi! Soon  we will be heading out of Nebraska and into Iowa and eventually to Pennsylvania (did someone say Philly Cheesesteak)!
